Seedlings Book Angel Program: 2011 Registration Is Now Open!

Seedlings LogoAs explained on their Web site,

This program was originally called “Anna’s Book Angel Project” and was named in memory of our Director’s 19-year-old daughter who was killed by a drunk driver in 2001. Each year, blind children who were registered received one free book in Anna’s name, but now we want to do even more. Thanks to Seedlings’ generous donors, blind children in the U.S. and Canada can receive two free braille books per year!

The Book Angel program is a wonderful example of people turning personal tragedy into a blessing for others:  they channeled their grief into a project that makes life better for other people.  The Book Angel program is

open to visually-impaired children who live in the US and Canada. Book Angel orders will be filled when your child’s name is selected, and as time and materials allow. The books will be shipped “Free Matter for the Blind.”

Peanut’s first twin-vision books came from the Book Angel program, and we are grateful that they have extended the program for another year.  If you would like to learn more about Seedlings and register for your two free books, check out their Web site here:  http://www.seedlings.org/bkangel2009.php
