From Smithsonian.com: New Chemical Allows Blind Mice to See

After surviving the night from hell (who knew someone so small could puke so much?  It’s like the newborn diaper phenomena, but with spread.), this article arrived in my inbox to bring hope to my heart and a smile to my face:  New Chemical Allows Blind Mice to See.  Essentially, scientists at the University of California, Berkeley, have developed a synthetic chemical that can replicate the effects of rod and cone cells in the eye; the comound “temporarily restored sight in otherwise blind mice.”  This gives me so much hope for Peanut, and other people like him!  Check it out at http://blogs.smithsonianmag.com/science/2012/07/new-chemical-allows-blind-mice-to-see/?utm_source=smithsoniantopic&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20120729-Weekender
