Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for the 25th annual Trolley Run this Sunday! Thank you also to the people who volunteered, whether at the race itself or beforehand, and the people who donated to Peanut’s school. Words cannot express how much we appreciate it.
We had a beautiful day for Trolley Run this year–not too hot, and beautifully sunny before it ended. Peanut and Sprout each walked for part of the race; Peanut was an excellent ambassador for the blind as he ran, hauling the wagon behind him–with his sister in it!–with one hand and holding his cane with the other. He did a lovely job showing how capable he is–we were very proud of him today. Sprout turned heads in this year’s trolley dress (I alter her t-shirts into dresses for her for the race–she’s 20 months old, so even a youth extra-small is enormous on her), and by her vocal “cheering” (read: “screaming”) as we hauled her along in the wagon. (Sprout had her walking privileges revoked from sitting down to throw a fit, so she got to ride. She wasn’t pleased. We chose to interpret her displeasure as “cheering.” Creative parenting at its best!)
I have pictures of Sprout, Peanut and the gang . . . which I will add to this post once I figure out how to get them off of my phone. Again, THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this year’s Trolley Run a success–it was an awesome event this year, and we really, really appreciate it.
